चै‍त्र नवरात्रि में अष्टमी का सर्वाधिक महत्व है। साधारणतया यह कुलदेवी का दिन माना जाता है। पुराने वृद्ध, ‍वरिष्ठ सभी जानते तथा कुलदेवी का पूजन-अर्चन इस दिन करते हैं। काली, महाकाली, भद्रकाली, दक्षिण काली तथा बिजासन माता का पूजन इस दिन करते हैं। जो लोग घटस्थापना करते हैं तथा देवी पाठ, जप कराते-करते हैं, अधिकतर इस दिन हवन करते हैं। वैसे इस दिन की अधिष्ठात्री देवी महागौरी हैं। वैभव, ऐश्वर्य प्रदान करने में इनकी समता कोई नहीं कर सकता है।  

देश भर में चैत्र नवरात्र (Chaitra Navratri) की धूम है. शक्ति की देवी मां दुर्गा (Maa Durga) के नौ रूपों की पूजा का यह उत्‍सव अपने अंतिम पड़ाव की ओर बढ़ रहा है. नवरात्र के आठवें और नौवें दिन यानी कि अष्‍टमी (Ashtami) और नवमी (Navami) को कन्‍या पूजन (Kanya Pujan) कर व्रत का पारण किया जाता है. आप अपनी सुविधानुसार अष्‍टमी या नवमी में से कोई भी दिन चुन कर कन्‍या पूजन कर सकते हैं।  कन्‍या पूजन के लिए नौ कन्‍याओं की पूजा करने का विधान है. यही नहीं जो लोग पूरे नौ दिनों तक व्रत नहीं रख पाते हैं वे भी अष्‍टमी या नवमी का व्रत रखते हैं और कंजक पूजा (Kanjak Puja) भी करते हैं. चैत्र नवरात्र के आखिरी दिन ही राम नवमी (Ram Navami) मनाई जाती है।  नवरात्रि में मां को खुश करने का सबसे आसान उपाय है कन्या पूजन। व्रत न रखने वाले भी कन्या पूजन कर मां की कृपा प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। नवरात्रि में कन्या पूजन का विशेष महत्व होता है। कन्या पूजन के बिना नवरात्रि का पूरा फल प्राप्ति नहीं होता है। अष्टमी और नवमी के दिन कन्याओं को नौ देवी का रूप मानकर घर में इनका स्वागत-सत्कार किया जाना चाहिए।

आइए, आज जानते हैं कन्या पूजन के बारे में:

- कन्या पूजन और भोज के लिए पहले से कन्याओं को निमंत्रण दिया जाना चाहिए । 

- नौ कन्याओं के साथ एक बालक भी होना चाहिए क्योंकि आपको बता दें कि बालक को बटुक भैरव के रूप में पूजा जाता है. मान्‍यता है कि भगवान शिव ने हर शक्ति पीठ में माता की सेवा के लिए बटुक भैरव को तैनात किया हुआ है. कहा जाता है कि अगर किसी शक्‍ति पीठ में मां के दर्शन के बाद भैरव के दर्शन न किए जाएं तो दर्शन अधूरे माने जाते हैं.

-अष्‍टमी के दिन कन्‍या पूजन के दिन सुबह-सवेरे स्‍नान कर भगवान गणेश और महागौरी की पूजा करें.

-अगर नवमी के दिन कन्‍या पूजन कर रहे हैं तो भगवान गणेश की पूजा करने के बाद मां सिद्धिदात्री की पूजा करें. 

-ध्‍यान रहे कि कन्‍या पूजन से पहले घर में साफ-सफाई हो जानी चाहिए. कन्‍या रूपी माताओं को स्‍वच्‍छ परिवेश में ही बुलाना चाहिए. 

-कन्या पूजन से पहले सभी कन्याओं के पैरों को दूध और पानी से भरे थाल में उनके पैरों को धोना चाहिए और पैर छूकर उनका आशीर्वाद लेना चाहिए।

-इसके बाद सारी कन्याओं के माथे पर रोली, अक्षत और कुमकुम  का टीका लगाना चाहिए तथा इसके बाद उनके हाथ में मौली बाधें।  

-अब सभी कन्‍याओं और बालक को घी का दीपक दिखाकर उनकी आरती उतारें. 

-आरती के बाद सभी कन्‍याओं को यथाशक्ति भोग लगाएं. आमतौर पर कन्‍या पूजन के दिन कन्‍याओं को खाने के लिए पूरी, चना और हलवा दिया जाता है. 

-भोजन के बाद कन्‍याओं को यथाशक्ति भेंट और उपहार दें.

-इसके बाद कन्‍याओं के पैर छूकर उन्‍हें विदा करें.

बिना कन्या पूजन के नवरात्रि का व्रत रखने वाले भक्तों का व्रत पूरा नहीं होता है। नवरात्रि में नौ कन्याओं का पूजन और भोजन कराने से मां दुर्गा प्रसन्न होती हैं और सुख-समृद्धि का आशीर्वाद प्रदान करती हैं।

नोट : कोरोना वायरस के काऱण इस वर्ष अगर आप कन्या पूजन नहीं कर सकते तो कोई बात नहीं।  आप  माता रानी के सामने कन्या के नाम का खाना व् दक्षिणा निकाल दे और खाना अपने आसपास किसी गौ माता को खिला दे।  दक्षिणा अपने मंदिर में रख दे।  जैसे ही स्थिति सामान्य हो जाए (अगर हो सके तो) तो कन्याओं को बुलाकर आपने घर में खाना खिला  दे  तथा  मंदिर में राखी हुई रखी हुई दक्षिणा कन्याओं को दे दे।

By the way, the presiding deity of this day is Mahagauri. No one can equate them in providing splendor and opulence.

Chaitra Navratri is celebrated across the country. This festival of worshiping the nine forms of Maa Durga, the goddess of power, is moving towards its final stop. On the eighth and ninth day of Navratri, that is, Ashtami and Navami are fasted by performing Kanya Pujan. You can worship Kanya by choosing any day of Ashtami or Navami according to your convenience.  There is a law to worship nine kanya for Kanya worship. Not only this, those who are not able to keep the fast for the entire nine days, they also keep the fast of Ashtami or Navami and also do Kanjak Puja. Ram Navami is celebrated on the last day of Chaitra Navratri.  The easiest way to please mother in Navratri is Kanya Pujan. Even those who do not keep fast can worship the girl and get the blessings of the mata Rani. Kanya worship has special significance in Navratri. There is no complete fruit of Navratri without the worship of Kanyas. On Ashtami and Navami, girls should be considered as nine goddesses and should be welcomed at home.

The fast is not complete for the devotees who observe the fast of Navratri without worshiping the Kanya girls. Maa Durga is pleased and offers blessings of happiness and prosperity by worshiping and feeding nine kanya girls in Navratri.

Let us know about Kanya worship step by step:

- Girls should be invited in advance for Kanya Pujan and Bhoj.

- There should also be a boy child with nine girls because let us tell you that the boy child is worshiped as Batuk Bhairav. It is believed that Lord Shiva has deployed Batuk Bhairav for safety of Mata Rani in every Shakti Peetha. It is said that if there is no darshan of Lord Bhairav ​​after seeing the Mata Rani in the back of a power, then the Darshan is considered as  incomplete.

-On Ashtami, worship Lord Ganesha and Mahagauri on the morning of Kanya worship.

-If you are worshiping Kanyas on Navami, then after worshiping Lord Ganesha, worship Devi Siddhidatri.

-It should be noted that cleanliness should be done in the house before Kanya worship. Kanyas should be called in a clean environment.

-Before the worship of the girl, the feet of all the girls should wash their feet in a plate filled with milk and water, touch their feet and take their blessings.

-After this, all the girls should apply Roli, Akshat and Kumkum Tika on their forehead and then put Molly in their hand.

-Now perform aarti to all kanyas and boy by showing them diyas of ghee.

-After the Aarti, offer the "Bhog" as much as you can. Usually, Kanyas are offered Puri, Chana and Halwa on the day of Kanya worship.

-Give the Kanyas as much as Gifts as possible after having Bhog.

-After this, touch the feet of the girls and send them back with respect.

The fast is not complete for the devotees who observe the fast of Navratri without worshiping the Kanyas. Maa Durga is pleased and offers blessings of happiness and prosperity by worshiping and offering them food and gifts to nine Kanyas during Navratri.

Note: If you cannot do Kanya poojan this year due to Corona virus, then it does not matter. In front of Mata Rani, you can put the food and dakshina of the kanya's name and feed that food to some cow  around you. Put Dakshina in your house temple. As soon as the situation becomes normal (if possible) then call the Kanyas and offer them food at your home and give the Dakshina kept in the house temple to the Kanyas.
