राम नवमी भगवान् राम के जन्मोत्सव के तौर पर मनाया जाता है।  भगवन राम को आदर्श पुरुष के रूप में जाना जाता है।  पौराणिक कथाओ और कहानियो को खंगाले तो आपको यही सीख मिलती है कि  एक पुरुष का चरित्र भगवन राम की तरह होना चाइए।  यही वजह है कि भारतवर्ष में भगवन राम के अनुगामी बहुत है. इसलिए मने सोचा की क्यों न आप लोगो को राम नवमी क्यों मानते है के विषय में पूरी जानकारी प्रदान करे।  तो फिर चलिए शुरू करते है।  

चैत्र मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की नवमी को रामनवमी का पावन पर्व मनाया जाता हैं। आज चैत्र नवरात्र की नवमी है और कहा जाता है कि इस दिन अयोध्या के राजा दशरथ के पुत्र राम का जन्म हुआ था। इस दिन को रामजन्मोत्सव के रूप में मनाया जाता है। यह दिन चैत्र नवरात्रि का अंतिम दिन भी होता हैं। यह पर्व भगवान विष्णु के अवतार मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान श्री राम के जन्म से जुड़ा हुआ हैं। इसी दिन भगवान राम ने राजा दशरथ के यहां माता कौशल्या की कोख से जन्म लिया था। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार भगवान राम त्रेता युग में अवतरित हुए। जिसका उद्देश्य मानव मात्र के कल्याण के लिए एक आदर्श पुरुष की मिसाल पेश करना और अधर्म का नाश कर धर्म की स्थापना करना था।

राजा दशरथ जिनका प्रताप 10 दिशाओं में व्याप्त रहा। उन्होंने तीन विवाह किए थे लेकिन किसी भी रानी से उन्हें पुत्र की प्राप्ति नहीं हुई। ऋषि मुनियों से जब इस बारे में विमर्श किया तो उन्होंने पुत्रेष्टि यज्ञ करवाने की सलाह दी। पुत्रेष्टि यज्ञ करवाने के पश्चात यज्ञ से जो खीर प्राप्त हुई उसे राजा दशरथ ने अपनी प्रिय पत्नी कौशल्या को दे दिया।

कौशल्या ने उसमें से आधा हिस्सा केकैयी को दिया इसके पश्चात कौशल्या और केकैयी ने अपने हिस्से से आधा-आधा हिस्सा तीसरी पत्नी सुमित्रा को दे दिया। इसीलिए चैत्र शुक्ल नवमी को पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र एवं कर्क लग्न में माता कौशल्या की कोख से भगवान श्री राम जन्मे। केकैयी से भरत ने जन्म लिया तो सुमित्रा ने लक्ष्मण व शत्रुघ्न को जन्म दिया।

वेद शास्त्रों के ज्ञाता और समस्त लोकों पर अपने पराक्रम का परचम लहराने वाले, विभिन्न कलाओं में निपुण लंकापति रावण के अंहकार के किले को ध्वस्त करने वाले पराक्रमी भगवान श्री राम का जन्मोत्सव देश भर में धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाता है। इस दिन भगवान श्री राम की भक्ति में डूबकर भजन कीर्तन किए जाते हैं। 

श्री रामकथा सुनी जाती है। रामचरित मानस का पाठ करवाया जाता है। श्री राम स्त्रोत का पाठ किया जाता है। कई जगहों भर भगवान श्री राम की प्रतिमा को झूले में भी झुलाया जाता है। रामनवमी को उपवास भी रखा जाता है। मान्यता है कि रामनवमी का उपवास रखने से सुख समृद्धि आती है और पाप नष्ट होते हैं।

Why is Ram Navami celebrated ?

Many festivals are celebrated in India, especially Hindu religion is the religion of festivals. The Hindu calendar is full of festivals. Ram Navmi is also a Hindu festival which is celebrated with great enthusiasm by people of Hindu religion all over India. This festival comes once a year.

Rama Navami is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. Bhagavan Rama is known as an ideal man. The Navami of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month is celebrated as the holy festival of Ram Navami. Today is the Navami of Chaitra Navratri and it is said that on this day Rama, son of King Dasaratha of Ayodhya, was born. This day is celebrated as Ram Janmotsav. This day is also the last day of Chaitra Navratri. This festival is associated with the birth of Lord Shri Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On this day Lord Rama was born with the womb of Mother Kaushalya at King Dasharatha. According to mythology, Lord Rama incarnated in the Treta Yuga. The purpose of which was to set the example of an ideal man for the welfare of human beings and to establish religion by destroying iniquity.

King Dasharatha majesty was pervaded in all 10 directions. He had three marriages but did not receive a son from any queen. When the sage consulted the sages about this, he advised them to perform the Putreshti Yajna. After getting the Putreshti Yagna, the Kheer which was received from the Yajna was given by King Dasharatha to his beloved wife Kaushalya.  Kaushalya gave half of it to Kekayi after which Kaushalya and Kekayi gave half of their share to third wife Sumitra. That is why Lord Shri Ram was born to Chaitra Shukla Navami from the womb of Mother Kaushalya in Punavasu Nakshatra and Cancer Lagna. When Bharat was born from Kaikeyi, Sumitra gave birth to Lakshmana and Shatrughana.  

The birth anniversary of the mighty Lord Sri Rama, who is the master of the Vedas and the ruler of the lord of lankapati Ravana, who is versed in various arts, who exudes his might in all the arts, is celebrated with pomp across the country. On this day, Bhajan Kirtan is performed by immersing in devotion to Lord Shri Rama.

Sri Ramakatha is heard. Ramcharit Manas are recited. Sri Rama Stroth is recited. The idol of Lord Shri Rama is also seen in a swing in many places. Ram Navami is also kept fast. It is believed that keeping fast on Ramnavami brings prosperity and sins are destroyed.
